Warden Notice 35/03
(31 December 2003)
British Airways has cancelled its
flight BA 263 from Heathrow Airport to King Khalid International
Airport, Riyadh for security reasons. The Foreign and Commonwealth
Office (FCO) is amending its Travel Advice for Saudi Arabia to reflect
this.
We continue to advise against all but essential travel
to the Kingdom. And we continue to believe terrorists are planning
further attacks in Saudi Arabia, and that these could be in the
final stages of preparation. The detailed advice is available at
www.fco.gov.uk/travel
and at the Embassy's new website www.britishembassy.gov.uk/saudiarabia
via the short cut menu.
British nationals in Saudi Arabia should continue
to maintain a high level of vigilance. They should take all necessary
steps to protect their safety and ensure they have confidence in
their individual security arrangements.
The latest information about British Airways' flights
is available on their website www.ba.com
and by telephone from their local offices in Riyadh (01) 464 -5550
and Jeddah (02) 663 - 7777.
