Warden Notice 29/03
(29 November 2003)
The Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) has revised
the Travel Advice for Saudi Arabia. The detailed advice is available
at www.fco.gov.uk/travel
or via the Embassy's website www.ukm.org.sa
and click on "Consular".
The discovery on 25 November by the Saudi authorities
of a terrorist plot showed the terrorist threat across Saudi Arabia
remains high. As well as continuing to advise against all but essential
travel to Saudi Arabia, the Travel Advice warns that terrorists
may be in the final phases of planning attacks in the Kingdom.
The Travel Advice reflects our assessment that the
threat from terrorism remains particularly serious. If you choose
to stay in Saudi Arabia you should take all necessary steps to protect
your safety. You should have confidence in your individual security
arrangements and follow our advice on personal and vehicle security.
