Warden Notice 09/06 (01 July 2006)

The FCO travel Advice has just been amended, more as a result of tidying the page up rather than a change in substance.

The main changes are:

In the terrorism and security section we have deleted reference to attacks in the desert around Riyadh as we consider the threat to be general to the Kingdom as a whole rather than specific to Riyadh. We have also added a factual reference about recent arrests/deaths in Riyadh and the Dhow incident in Bahrain.

Under 'Entry Requirements' we have highlighted the problems that some people may have taking children out of the Kingdom.

Under 'Health' we have emphasised the need for medical insurance, included a piece about healthcare facilities in Saudi Arabia and warned of cases of Rift Valley Fever and cerebral malaria in the Jizan area.

William John Neil
HM Consul
